Nursing Research Network
Hellenic Society of Nursing Research and Education was established in order to cover a gap within Nursing in Greece and in order to address the request of many colleagues who considered its creation an essential need. Education and research are the foundations of every science. Nursing should keep up with current progress and new developments in order to play a substantial role in the scientific world. We hope that, by creating a portal of communication with nurses, we will manage to contribute, as much as possible, to the reinforcement of continuing education and research.
Education at all levels, from compulsory education up to, and including, post-graduate studies, educates persons and scientists. It expands thinking and develops personalities. Continuing education, compulsory or voluntary, contributes to the enlightenment of those who seek information, by providing them with the necessary skills, which are required for nursing practice. “HSNRE” recognising this need, tries with appropriate ways to contribute towards this direction.
President of the HSNRE, Christina Marvaki

The Hellenic Society of Nursing Research and Education announces the initiation of the first Journal Club and kindly invites all registered nurses and nursing students to participate in our nursing journal club which is soon to be started. We need to note that journal clubs is an entirely new concept for the Hellenic nursing community.
The constant process of updated training, as well as the need to bridge the gap between theory and evidence based nursing practice dictate the implementation of this innovative idea, coming from a scientific society dedicated to nursing research and education. Initially our Journal Club will be held in Athens and Thessaloniki, but our ultimate goal is global expansion in Greece. The coordinator and scientifically in charge for this project is CPT(NC) Mastrokostas Athanasios, Msc in Medical Research Methodology, delegate of HSNRE for the Macedonia region
Nursing Research Network
The network’s philosophy
Nursing, in order to play an active role in health care, should be based on scientific knowledge that emerges through research. The aims of HSNRE are to enhance and disseminate research as well as to organize continuing education programs. Nursing Research Network is a new institution created by the Hellenic Society of Nursing Research and Education (HSNRE), running since 2009, to promote nursing research. It is based on a structured framework of support and cooperation between "researchers" and "partners" in order to conduct research studies.
• Implementing research at national and international level.
• Providing support to nurse-researchers facilitating cooperation amongst themselves.
• Providing a flexible framework for nurses’ continuing education on new data, especially in relation both research and generally nursing.
• Enabling nurses throughout the country to participate in an extensive research process.
• the communication with the Network’s coordinators.
